Let Me Tell You!

I first want to let you know, when I (Juliana) post anything on health, fitness, recipes, they are NOT Kim approved!  I don’t know half of what she does and I am learning so much!!  Also, when we tell you anything about supplements,etc., it is for knowledge only!!!  We are not RECOMMENDING anything!  That is for your doctor alone to do and you should see your doctor before doing ANYTHING!!   I have not even had a chemistry class in my life, if that tells you anything!!   

With that being said I want to tell you about something I discovered yesterday at the health food and vitamin store!  As you all know, since the beta blocker I have really struggled with my weight!  I know that blood pressure and weight gain are related and I also knew just losing 20 pounds would definitely help me!  At the health food and vitamin store I had heard of Garcinia Cambogia.  I decided to check into it more.  After talking to their supplement lady, I decided to try it. 

It was my mother’s birthday, PRAISE GOD!!!  As you all know she has had 2 near death experiences with her heart since last August, and we celebrated another year!  GLORY TO GOD!!  That being said, we took her out to eat and I took one of the capsules.  I ate 2 rolls, half of a steak, and green beans and a salad.  Any other time this would have put 2-3 pounds on me!  This morning I WAS 3 POUNDS LIGHTER!!  This has not happened to me since I have been on the beta blocker because they slow your metabolism down, and sometimes shut it down, which is what happened to me according to my doctor.

I found out if you don’t diet you will lose about 2 pounds per week!  BUT, if you do diet and exercise  (which is what I have chosen to do), some have lost up to 7 pounds per week!  I AM NOT RECOMMENDING YOU DO THIS, but it doesn’t hurt to know about it, right?  I am simply telling you what it did for me so you can research it out if you would like to and check with your doctor!  I am thrilled and actually feel better!

Keeping Your Frequency High


Today let’s talk about frequencies. It was so weird to me when I first started learning about our body’s frequency and how important it was to keep it on a normal level to sustain health. I kept asking myself, “Is this Godly? Is this some “way out there” scientific thing?” But then I put all of the pieces together and it started making PERFECT sense. And here’s what I figured out…

 1.   God created the world, He spoke it into existence.
 Genesis 1:11,12

11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

2.   God’s words spoke life into EVERY living thing.

3.   And EVERY living thing has a frequency.

4.   When prayer and essential oils are combined, the frequency is DOUBLED!

 Our bodies have measurable frequencies (vibrational motion) recorded in hertz (Hz), and you’ve probably heard of the terms kilohertz (kHz) & megahertz (MHz). Everything “living” has a frequency that can be measured.

The normal healthy body is said to have a frequency of 62-78 Hz.

At about 42 Hz you can become susceptible to cancer, and at 25 Hz, death begins.

Bruce Tainio, a plant breeder and microbiologist of Tainio Technology in Washington, developed the first frequency monitor to measure biofrequencies in plants and essential oils. He determined that when the frequencies dropped, the body’s immune system is compromised, and illness may be allowed to invade.

For example, processed and poor quality food, pollutants, and toxins which have a lower frequencies will lower the frequency of the body towards a disease state with each exposure.

Canned food is reported to have a frequency of ZERO.

Why? Because the energy, or “life force” of the food has been processed right out of it. It’s been said that just holding a cup of coffee can lower a body frequency by about 8 Hz. Drinking it lowers it even more.

Impressively, Bruce Tainio’s machine was certified 100% accurate and is still used today in the agriculture industry after beginning to realize the negative effects of chemicals being used by the agriculture community back in the 1960’s.

 There is a subtle bio-energy that flows through all organic life. It goes by many names and is sometimes referred to as Chi or life force. This energy is expressed as an electromagnetic vibrational frequency – and pure essential oils have the highest frequencies of any measured natural substance.


For example, here are the average frequencies of some of the therapeutic grade essential oils that have been measured:

  • Rose (Rosa damascene)…………………320 MHz

Effects of Outside Influences on Body Frequency

Based on his studies, researcher Nikola Tesla said that, if we could eliminate certain outside frequencies that interfered in our bodies, we would have greater resistance toward disease. 

Pathogens have a low frequency. Pollutants – both particulate and radiation (EMF) – lower a healthy frequency.  Processed and canned food having a frequency of zero can greatly diminish a person’s own frequency. 

Even thoughts and feelings have a vibratory quality that forms a measurable frequency. A negative mental state can lower a person’s frequency by 10-12 MHz. Likewise, a substance or influencing factor – such as thoughts, emotions, and frequency devices – in our internal and external environments can also serve to raise our frequencies. For example, a positive mental attitude, prayer or meditation can raise it by 10-15 MHz.

Different types of frequencies can have a chaotic or a harmonizing effect on our own systems. When something vibrates at many dissonant frequencies, it produces “chaotic or incoherent frequencies.” (David Stewart, The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple).

For example, all of the electrical devices in your home – lamps, television, radio, phone, microwave – emit electromagnetic vibrational frequencies that are incoherent and chaotic. Their effect is to fracture the human electrical field.

By contrast, Dr. Rife’s frequency generator and most naturally occurring substances –including essential oils – have coherent frequencies that resonate harmoniously with the electrical field of the human body.

The Healing Process and the Subtle Energy Nature of Essential Oils

The human body vibrating within its normal vibratory range between 62 and 68 MHz is considered in a state of health. But energy disturbances in the subtle bodies will actually precede the appearance of disease and illness in the physical body.

The normally harmonious coherent frequencies of the body easily go out of “tune” when a person experiences physical or emotional stress. A blockage of the flow of life energy – characterized by inflammation, irritation and illness – can result. When the human frequency range drops below the norm of 62 megahertz, this is when abnormal processes can begin to develop.

When disease and illness are present, they may manifest as chemical imbalances. But underlying this is an electromagnetic imbalance that has altered the specific vibrational frequencies of molecules, cells, tissues and organs within the body.

Properly “retuning” the body to its original frequency brings it into balance and restores its natural harmonic resonance – illness either doesn’t manifest or is resolved.

Dr. Richard Gerber MD, author of Vibrational Medicine, tells us that one of the best ways we can “frequency-specific subtle energy in the form of vibrational medicines.”

And researcher Jim Oschman, PhD, who wrote Energy Medicine, refers to natural substances from the plant kingdom he calls “energetic pharmacology”. Therapeutic grade essential oils produce coherent frequencies that are naturally tuned to the health of our bodies. Pharmaceuticals and synthetic oils do not.

The intention of this healing process is to provide the correct frequency that will bring the body back to a state of coherence, to a state of equilibrium. Terry Friedman, in his book, Freedom Through Health tells us that raising our vibrational frequency aids in “restoring health to the body, clarity to the mind and attunement to the spirit.”

By applying an essential oil with a particular frequency to the human body – through the principle of entrainment – the oil’s higher frequency will raise the vibratory quality of that individual. When several oils are blended together, each having a different MHz frequency, a frequency will emerge that may be higher or lower than the various components. The therapeutic properties create special vibrational remedies capable of healing or rebalancing the body/mind/soul/spirit.

And because each oil has a specific frequency, and our organs and body systems and the nutrients needed to maintain optimum health each have their specific frequencies, the oil’s electrical affinity to these components of our bodies will enhance and support these organs and body systems, and will aid in the assimilation of nutrients.

Essential oils in the higher frequency ranges tend to influence the emotions. EOs in the lower frequencies have more effect on structural and physical changes, including cells, hormones, and bones, as well as viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

Essential oils don’t resonate with the toxins in our bodies. This incompatibility is what helps eliminate the toxins from our systems. Neither do they resonate with negative emotions. So they can help dislodge forgotten traumas by surfacing them in our consciousness where we can deal with them and let them go.

Clinical research shows that essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, creating an environment in which disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live. For oils that help promote restful sleep or relaxation such as Lavender, a good area to apply it is to the soles of the feet where the pores are large and it absorbs well.

Internal Use of Oils:

The ONLY oils I recommend for internal use is YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS. They are the

only oils that are pure enough to ingest. Oils meant internal use, such as Lemon, Peppermint or Thieves are also very therapeutic to the digestive system and can help in detox and elimination of bacteria or parasites. A drop or two in purified water or in an empty capsule is enough to reap the benefits.

Organic is WAY too expensive, right?

 If you haven’t jumped on the “organic bandwagon”, you are probably thinking all of us who have, are a little crazy. Well, I totally understand. I used to be one of those who thought the Organic label was just another way for companies to make an extra buck. Maybe more like, a lot of bucks, because organic stuff is EXPENSIVE! But here’s the deal, after I started my garden last year and learned the details of how to grow a plant from fertilizer to seed to germination to fruit and veggies, I quickly changed my mind. Have you ever read the backs of the bottles of regular garden pesticides? Do you realize how hard it is to wash that stuff off? And even if you wash it really, really good, it’s still in the roots and still inside the fruit or vegetable. There are so many statistic out there concerning human consumption of herbicides and pesticides and I have the hardest time knowing that, and then putting it on the table for my family of 6 to eat. And let’s not even go into all the hormones and steroids they feed animals that we eat. Yes, it is more expensive, and if you do an organic garden like me, it takes a lot more time and research, but it is so, so worth it.

 Here’s some things we do different to offset the cost of buying organic.

  1. Eat less meat per meal. I make a lot of soup, casseroles and stir-frys. There is no huge hamburger patty (unless it’s a bean burger) or giant chicken breast on our plates at dinner. It’s not cost effective and it’s just too much meat! I can feed our family of 6 a super awesome meal using 2 organic chicken breasts or 1/2 to 3/4 lb organic ground beef.
  2. Shop your local Farmer’s Market. Not all things at a Farmer’s Markets are organic, homegrown or even cheap but if you keep looking, I bet you will find one that suits your family’s needs. Also, buying fruits and veggies that are in season can be much more cost effective.
  3. Grow a garden. Even if it’s just an herb garden or a container garden. I’ve seen some really successful container gardens done by people who have little to no yard.
  4. Find a person who sells their own farm eggs. Eggs are very nutritious. And if you have connections, they are cheaper than buying at the store. They have minerals and vitamins that you can’t get anywhere else. Eggs have been known to help fight Alzheimer’s disease. They are packed with protein but they have to be “real” eggs… not store-bought. 
  5. Stop buying packaged snacks and ready-made meals. Yes, they may seem easier to prepare for a very busy family but not only will you be spending more time off work in the doctor’s office, you will also are paying more for what you get. There are some amazing recipes and ideas out there on the internet to help you manage cooking, and feeding your family on the run, in a healthy way… believe me, if I can do it, you can do it. For example, make a batch of organic granola bars on a Saturday afternoon. Make enough to last the week, for easy grab-and-go. It will take you maybe 45 mins to figure it all out and less each time you prepare them. For the cost, you will get a ton more doing it yourself. Another great healthy snack is hard-boiled eggs. My boys love them. Lots of nutrition and good for the brain!
  6. One word… Costco! I can not begin to explain how much I LOVE this store. It carries lots and lots of organic products in bulk at an awesome price. It’s my once-a-month stop shop. Since I started shopping there, I make little to no extra stops at the store throughout the week and our pantry is stocked with more variety of organic products.
  7. Use your crock pot. Even if you use it to just cook the chicken you will shred and put on salad or sweet potato later that evening, it saves time and gets one part of dinner done in advance.  There are tons and tons of recipes online for crock pots. Just don’t use the ones that include cream soups or weird packaged things… keep it real. 🙂
  8. Don’t be afraid to use your imagination. I love finding recipes I can alter. If I find one I think will be a hit, I immediately figure out how I can alter it to fit with the things I have or am willing to feed my family. And there’s nothing wrong with a good ol’ cleaning-out-the-fridge meal. This morning I emptied my fridge with every single veggie I could find. I had a few of this and a 1/2 of that, and I made vegetable soup in the crock pot. I added some kale and cilantro, a can of organic diced tomatoes. I may bake some homemade grain free bread tonight to go with it… BOOM! Done. 🙂 Healthy, packed with nutrition, organic, and the best part… easy. (and nothing was wasted!)

 Here’s a wonderful chart showing just what exactly is the difference between organic and non.  

Conventional Organic
Apply chemical fertilizers to promote plant growth. Apply natural fertilizers, such as manure or compost, to feed soil and plants.
Spray synthetic insecticides to reduce pests and disease. Spray pesticides from natural sources; use beneficial insects and birds, mating disruption or traps to reduce pests and disease.
Use synthetic herbicides to manage weeds. Use environmentally-generated plant-killing compounds; rotate crops, till, hand weed or mulch to manage weeds.
Give animals antibiotics, growth hormones and medications to prevent disease and spur growth. Give animals organic feed and allow them access to the outdoors. Use preventive measures — such as rotational grazing, a balanced diet and clean housing — to help minimize disease.



Also, take note that “Natural” and “Organic” are NOT the same thing! You may see “natural” and other terms such as “all natural,” “free-range” or “hormone-free” on food labels. These descriptions must be truthful, but don’t confuse them with the term “organic.” Only foods that are grown and processed according to USDA organic standards can be labeled organic.

 One more reason to buy organic:

Organic regulations ban or severely restrict the use of food additives, processing aids (substances used during processing, but not added directly to food) and fortifying agents commonly used in nonorganic foods, including preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colorings and flavorings, and monosodium glutamate.

Your healing is right around the corner!



 As you know, I am an absolute true believer that God can HEAL us (not relieve us for the moment) but actually HEAL us through prayer, diet and essential oils. The scoop on sweetner.

This is a long one today, folks, but so so worth it! 🙂

We have all heard, Aspartame is NOT good for us. Of course the FDA will argue that several tests have been done to confirm that it is OK for human consumption but seriously, it’s in EVERYTHING! Are they considering the fact that we are consuming it everywhere and in everything? AND even if they are, can we really believe the FDA anyway?… I think, NOT! Either way, I am here to say that since I quit consuming 2 heaping spoonfuls of Equal in my morning coffee a day and sprinkling it on my strawberries and what-have-you (about 3 years ago), I have done some research and here’s the break down. I realized I had a bunch of these symptoms, one main one being, memory loss! And I wasn’t the only one noticing it… my whole family was commenting on how I couldn’t remember ANYTHING! Yikes!

 Aspartame is the technical name for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure.

 Aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA. Many of these reactions are very serious, including seizures and death. A few of the 90 different documented symptoms listed in the report as being caused by aspartame include:

What Is Aspartame Made Of?

Aspartic Acid (40 percent of Aspartame)

Dr. Russell L. Blaylock, a professor of neurosurgery at the Medical University of Mississippi, recently published a book thoroughly detailing the damage that is caused by the ingestion of excessive aspartic acid from aspartame. Blaylock makes use of almost 500 scientific references to show how excess free excitatory amino acids such as aspartic acid and glutamic acid (about 99 percent of monosodium glutamate or MSG is glutamic acid) in our food supply are causing serious chronic neurological disorders and a myriad of other acute symptoms.

How Aspartate (and Glutamate) Cause Damage

aspartateAspartate and glutamate act as neurotransmitters in the brain by facilitating the transmission of information from neuron to neuron. Too much aspartate or glutamate in the brain kills certain neurons by allowing the influx of too much calcium into the cells. This influx triggers excessive amounts of free radicals, which kill the cells. The neural cell damage that can be caused by excessive aspartate and glutamate is why they are referred to as “excitotoxins.” They “excite” or stimulate the neural cells to death.
Aspartic acid is an amino acid. Taken in its free form (unbound to proteins), it significantly raises the blood plasma level of aspartate and glutamate. The excess aspartate and glutamate in the blood plasma shortly after ingesting aspartame or products with free glutamic acid (glutamate precursor) leads to a high level of those neurotransmitters in certain areas of the brain.

The blood brain barrier (BBB), which normally protects the brain from excess glutamate and aspartate as well as toxins, 1) is not fully developed during childhood, 2) does not fully protect all areas of the brain, 3) is damaged by numerous chronic and acute conditions, and 4) allows seepage of excess glutamate and aspartate into the brain even when intact.

The excess glutamate and aspartate slowly begin to destroy neurons. The large majority (75 percent or more) of neural cells in a particular area of the brain are killed before any clinical symptoms of a chronic illness are noticed. A few of the many chronic illnesses that have been shown to be contributed to by long-term exposure to excitatory amino acid damage include:

Multiple sclerosis (MS)
Parkinson’s disease
Memory loss
Hormonal problems
Brain lesions
Alzheimer’s disease
Neuroendocrine disorders

aspartame effectThe risk to infants, children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with certain chronic health problems from excitotoxins are great. Even the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), which usually understates problems and mimics the FDA party-line, recently stated in a review that:

“It is prudent to avoid the use of dietary supplements of L-glutamic acid by pregnant women, infants, and children. The existence of evidence of potential endocrine responses, i.e., elevated cortisol and prolactin, and differential responses between males and females, would also suggest a neuroendocrine link and that supplemental L-glutamic acid should be avoided by women of childbearing age and individuals with affective disorders.”

Aspartic acid from aspartame has the same deleterious effects on the body as glutamic acid. The exact mechanism of acute reactions to excess free glutamate and aspartate is currently being debated. As reported to the FDA, those reactions include:

Fatigue (blocks sufficient
glucose entry into brain)
Anxiety attacks
Sleep problems
Abdominal pains
Vision problems
Asthma/chest tightness


One common complaint of persons suffering from the effect of aspartame is memory loss. Ironically, in 1987, G.D. Searle, the manufacturer of aspartame, undertook a search for a drug to combat memory loss caused by excitatory amino acid damage. Blaylock is one of many scientists and physicians who are concerned about excitatory amino acid damage caused by ingestion of aspartame and MSG.

A few of the many experts who have spoken out against the damage being caused by aspartate and glutamate include Adrienne Samuels, Ph.D., an experimental psychologist specializing in research design. Another is Olney, a professor in the department of psychiatry, School of Medicine, Washington University, a neuroscientist and researcher, and one of the world’s foremost authorities on excitotoxins. (He informed Searle in 1971 that aspartic acid caused holes in the brains of mice.)


Phenylalanine (50 percent of aspartame) 

Phenylalanine is an amino acid normally found in the brain. Persons with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria (PKU) cannot metabolize phenylalanine. This leads to dangerously high levels of phenylalanine in the brain (sometimes lethal). It has been shown that ingesting aspartame, especially

along with carbohydrates, can lead to excess levels of phenylalanine in the brain even in persons who do not have PKU.

This is not just a theory, as many people who have eaten large amounts of aspartame over a long period of time and do not have PKU have been shown to have excessive levels of phenylalanine in the blood. Excessive levels of phenylalanine in the brain can cause the levels of serotonin in the brain to decrease,

leading to emotional disorders such as depression.

It was shown in human testing that phenylalanine levels of the blood were increased significantly in human subjects who chronically used aspartame.

Even a single use of aspartame raised the blood phenylalanine levels. In his testimony before the U.S. Congress, Dr. Louis J. Elsas showed that high blood phenylalanine can be concentrated in parts of the brain and is especially dangerous for infants and fetuses. He also showed that phenylalanine is metabolized much more efficiently by rodents than by humans.

One account of a case of extremely high phenylalanine levels caused by aspartame was recently published by the Wednesday Journal in an article titled “An Aspartame Nightmare.” John Cook began drinking six to eight diet drinks every day. His symptoms started out as memory loss and frequent headaches. He began to crave more aspartame-sweetened drinks. His condition deteriorated so much that he experienced wide mood swings and violent rages. Even though he did not suffer from PKU, a blood test revealed a phenylalanine level of 80 mg/dl. He also showed abnormal brain function and brain damage. After he kicked his aspartame habit, his symptoms improved dramatically.

As Blaylock points out in his book, early studies measuring phenylalanine buildup in the brain were flawed. Investigators who measured specific brain regions and not the average throughout the brain notice significant rises in phenylalanine levels. Specifically the hypothalamus, medulla oblongata, and corpus striatum areas of the brain had the largest increases in phenylalanine. Blaylock goes on to point out that excessive buildup of phenylalanine in the brain can cause schizophrenia or make one more susceptible to seizures.

Therefore, long-term, excessive use of aspartame may provide a boost to sales of serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as Prozac and drugs to control schizophrenia and seizures.

Methanol a.k.a wood alcohol/poison (10 percent of aspartame)

Methanol/wood alcohol is a deadly poison. Some people may remember methanol as the poison that has caused some “skid row” alcoholics to end up blind or dead. Methanol is gradually released in the small intestine when the methyl group of aspartame encounters the enzyme chymotrypsin.

The absorption of methanol into the body is sped up considerably when free methanol is ingested. Free methanol is created from aspartame when it is heated to above 86 Fahrenheit (30 Centigrade). This would occur when aspartame-containing product is improperly stored or when it is heated (e.g. as part of a “food” product such as Jello).

methanolMethanol breaks down into formic acid and formaldehyde in the body. Formaldehyde is a deadly neurotoxin. An EPA assessment of methanol states that methanol “is considered a cumulative poison due to the low rate of excretion once it is absorbed. In the body, methanol is oxidized to formaldehyde and formic acid; both of these metabolites are toxic.” They recommend a limit of consumption of 7.8 mg/day. A one-liter (approx. 1 quart) aspartame-sweetened beverage contains about 56 mg of methanol. Heavy users of aspartame-containing products consume as much as 250 mg of methanol daily or 32 times the EPA limit.

Symptoms from methanol poisoning include headaches, ear buzzing, dizziness, nausea, gastrointestinal disturbances, weakness, vertigo, chills, memory lapses, numbness and shooting pains in the extremities, behavioral disturbances, and neuritis. The most well known problems from methanol poisoning are vision problems including misty vision, progressive contraction of visual fields, blurring of vision, obscuration of vision, retinal damage, and blindness. Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen, causes retinal damage, interferes with DNA replication and causes birth defects.

Due to the lack of a couple of key enzymes, humans are many times more sensitive to the toxic effects of methanol than animals. Therefore, tests of aspartame or methanol on animals do not accurately reflect the danger for humans. As pointed out by Dr. Woodrow C. Monte, director of the food science and nutrition laboratory at Arizona State University: “There are no human or mammalian studies to evaluate the possible mutagenic, teratogenic or carcinogenic effects of chronic administration of methyl alcohol.”

He was so concerned about the unresolved safety issues that he filed suit with the FDA requesting a hearing to address these issues. He asked the FDA to:

“…[S]low down on this soft drink issue long enough to answer some of the important questions. It’s not fair that you are leaving the full burden of proof on the few of us who are concerned and have such limited resources. You must remember that you are the American public’s last defense. Once you allow usage (of aspartame) there is literally nothing I or my colleagues can do to reverse the course. Aspartame will then join saccharin, the sulfiting agents, and God knows how many other questionable compounds enjoined to insult the human constitution with governmental approval.”

Shortly thereafter, the Commissioner of the FDA, Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr., approved the use of aspartame in carbonated beverage. He then left for a position with G.D. Searle’s public relations firm.

It has been pointed out that some fruit juices and alcoholic beverages contain small amounts of methanol. It is important to remember, however, that methanol never appears alone. In every case, ethanol is present, usually in much higher amounts. Ethanol is an antidote for methanol toxicity in humans. The troops of Desert Storm were “treated” to large amounts of aspartame-sweetened beverages, which had been heated to over 86 degrees F in the Saudi Arabian sun. Many of them returned home with numerous disorders similar to what has been seen in persons who have been chemically poisoned by formaldehyde. The free methanol in the beverages may have been a contributing factor in these illnesses. Other breakdown products of aspartame such as DKP (discussed below) may also have been a factor.

In a 1993 act that can only be described as “unconscionable,” the FDA approved aspartame as an ingredient in numerous food items that would always be heated to above 86 degree F (30 degree C).

Diketopiperazine (DKP)

DKP is a byproduct of aspartame metabolism. DKP has been implicated in the occurrence of brain tumors. Olney noticed that DKP, when nitrosated in the gut, produced a compound that was similar to N-nitrosourea, a powerful brain tumor causing chemical. Some authors have said that DKP is produced after aspartame ingestion. I am not sure if that is correct. It is definitely true that DKP is formed in liquid aspartame-containing products during prolonged storage.

G.D. Searle conducted animal experiments on the safety of DKP. The FDA found numerous experimental errors occurred, including “clerical errors, mixed-up animals, animals not getting drugs they were supposed to get, pathological specimens lost because of improper handling,” and many other errors. These sloppy laboratory procedures may explain why both the test and control animals had 16 times more brain tumors than would be expected in experiments of this length.

In an ironic twist, shortly after these experimental errors were discovered, the FDA used guidelines recommended by G.D. Searle to develop the industry-wide FDA standards for good laboratory practices.

DKP has also been implicated as a cause of uterine polyps and changes in blood cholesterol by FDA Toxicologist Dr. Jacqueline Verrett in her testimony before the U.S. Senate.

Let’s face it, eating healthy is not about dieting anymore. It’s about staying healthy and living longer. It’s about quality of life because if you eat the way I used to and most of America does, you are hurting.

Not just your regular cup of “Joe”

 So I am approaching this issue after much thought and I fully realize you may not like a word I have to say! I’m talking about COFFEE! Most morning drinkers don’t realize it, but those morning cups of “Joe” set our bodies up for a rollercoaster day of highs and lows, only to bottom out at  the point of exhaustion. Just a few hours after consumption, when the artificial  high dies down, many people may reach for more coffee or something sugary to get  another lift, leading to daily fluctuations in energy and alertness, and  possibly to eventual chronic adrenal exhaustion.

 Now, you don’t have to explain your coffee addiction to me. I have not missed a morning without my good friend “Joe” for over 20 years… until 2 weeks ago. And I liked it strong! When people come to my house and drink my coffee, they usually have to really doctor it up or water it down. And I never drank just one cup. All of my mugs are the size of Texas. You could fit 3 cups easy in my favorite mug. Most of the time I would drink 1 1/2 to 2 of those cups throughout the morning, sometimes into the afternoon. You probably don’t make your coffee as strong as mine and you may not even think of drinking that much coffee but just one caffeinated  drink – whether it’s a soft drink, caffeinated tea or coffee – will put your  body on the caffeine rollercoaster. As I began to pay more attention to my body, i noticed that I had a severe sugar craving everyday around 2:00pm. I was tired, cranky, and so worn out! Sometimes I would reach for an afternoon cup of coffee or energy boosting tea. I wasn’t sleeping good at night anymore (and hadn’t been for months) and when I woke in the morning, I felt so groggy until I got some coffee in me.   

 Well, two weeks ago I decided I was done with caffeine. I was done with the junk and sugar I had to put in it to make it taste good. I wanted to feel what it was like to NOT be dependant on coffee.

Well, let me tell ya, for the first 3 days, it did NOT feel so good! I had the most horrible headache I have ever had. My anxiety was creeping up and I was so nauseous. Ugh! But I stuck it out and refused to give in, despite all the advice I got from people around me. That’s when I started researching just what EXACTLY are the side effects of coffee and how is it effecting me.

 When you consume caffeine, the drug begins  its effects by initiating uncontrolled neuron firing in your brain, according to  Stephen Cherniske in his book, Caffeine Blues. This excess neuron  activity triggers your pituitary gland to secrete a hormone that tells your  adrenal glands to produce adrenalin.

Adrenalin is what gives athletes that winning burst of energy and a mother the ability to rescue her child by lifting a car. Adrenalin is also the  source of our “fight-or-flight” response. By  stimulating your adrenal glands to produce adrenalin, caffeine  puts your body in this “fight-or-flight” state, which is useless while you’re  just sitting at your desk. When this adrenal high wears off later, you feel the  drop in terms of fatigue, irritability, headache or confusion. At this point, you may reach for another “hit” of caffeine, followed by  another, and another and maybe even one more. If you constantly keep your body  on a caffeine high, you’re constantly keeping your body in “flight-or-flight”  mode.   David Stewart, PhD. writes in the book “Healing Oils of the Bible”: “Measurements of the human body found that a healthy person has a frequency around 32-68 MHz. Sick of being sick? There is a better way…

I am talking “oils” today!  Beyond  Antibiotics is the title of a  book by two medical doctors, Keith Sehnert, MD and Lendon Smith, MD.These gutsy authors challenge one of the most  sacred cows of conventional medicine, the widespread use of antibiotics.I have found antibiotics are very rarely  needed, and most often they are very harmful.I have drawn information from the book to write this  article.

 Doctors prescribe antibiotics at what can only be  termed an incredible rate.According to  several studies done around the year 2000, obstetricians and gynecologists wrote  2,645,000 antibiotic prescriptions every week.Internists prescribed 1,416,000 per week.This works out to 211,172,000 prescriptions  annually, just for the two specialties!Pediatricians prescribe over $500 million worth of antibiotics annually  just for one condition, ear infections. The intent of this article is not to  suggest that antibiotics should never be used.They can be life-saving.However,  many health authorities are beginning to admit that antibiotics are  overprescribed and toxic, creating many subtle problems that are worse than the  original condition.Let us examine  antibiotics more carefully in light of recent findings.


 MYTHS  ABOUT ANTIBIOTICS Among the prevalent myths about  antibiotics are the following three:

 Myth #1. Antibiotics are  responsible for the decline in infectious disease.The truth is that antibiotics are helpful for  many infections.However, antibiotics  have not resulted in the elimination of infectious diseases by themselves. In fact, we now have  antibiotic-resistant diseases that are much more difficult to treat as a direct  result of the use of antibiotics such as certain strains of gonorrhea and  tuberculosis, as well as many others that are less well known such as MRSA, a  resistant strain of streptococcus.These  cause many deaths, especially in hospitals. In Beyond Antibiotics, the authors use  graphs to trace the incidence of the major infectious diseases from 1900 to  1973.The diseases include measles,  scarlet fever, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, pneumonia, influenza, whooping  cough, diphtheria and polio. All were in decline for several  decades before the introduction of antibiotics or vaccines.After reviewing the data, researchers John  McKinlay and Sonja McKinlay at Boston University concluded that “.. at most,  3.5% of the total decline in mortality since 1900 could be ascribed to medical  measures introduced for the diseases considered here”.Improved nutrition and improved sanitation  and hygiene were far more important than the ‘wonder drugs’ or vaccines to  reduce these diseases.

Myth 2. Antibiotics are useful  against colds and flu.In truth, antibiotics are only helpful for  bacterial infections.However, many  physicians continue to prescribe them for viral conditions such as colds and  flu.The rationale is to prevent  secondary bacterial infection.This  would be fine, except for myth #3 below, the dangers of antibiotics. Given the dangers of antibiotics, it  is prudent in most cases not to take antibiotics for colds and flus.They can worsen the situation and prolong  recovery.

Myth #3.Antibiotics are harmless.This is the most insidious myth.It leads to overprescribing and blinds  physicians and the public to the dangers of antibiotics, described in the next  section.Meanwhile, safer methods of  avoiding and treating infections are ignored on the premise that the antibiotics  will take care of everything. The Physicians Desk Reference  lists the adverse effects of antibiotics.Anyone who is taking an antibiotic (or any other medication) should read  about the adverse effects.This can help  prevent nasty surprises. The interaction between antibiotics and other medications should also be  noted.In addition to the side effects  and cautions described in books, antibiotics present other problems that are  described below.  


 PROBLEMS  WITH ANTIBIOTICS The list of problems with  antibiotics is quite long.Some are  common and well known.Others are  subtle, but no less important.I have  divided the adverse effects into nine categories:

1) They contribute to cancer.A  2008 study of 3,000,000 people divided the participants into groups that had  taken no antibiotics for the past two years, those that had taken 2-5  prescriptions and those that had taken six or more prescriptions in the same  time period.Participants were tracked  for six years afterwards.Those who had  taken 2-5 antibiotic prescriptions had a 27% increase in cancers compared to  those who took none.Those who took six  or more prescriptions had a 37% increase in cancers.This was a carefully done study on a large  group of people and published in a very reputable journal (Int J Cancer  08;123:2152-2155).

 Other studies show the same  thing.A National Cancer Institute study in a major  medical journal found that the incidence of breast cancer doubled among women  who took took more than 25 antibiotic prescriptions or took antibiotics for more  than 500 days over 17 years (JAMA  04;291:827-835).

2. Allergic  Reactions.I used to worry every time I prescribed  penicillin when I was a medical intern.It had been explained that rarelya patient would have a fatal allergic reaction to it.I was taught that if I practiced medicine  long enough someone would die in my office after a shot of penicillin. While this is uncommon, other  allergic reactions to antibiotics occur frequently.Not only can the drug cause a reaction, but  most antibiotics contain chemical colors, sugar and other additives that can  trigger a reaction in sensitive individuals.

 3. Destruction Of Beneficial Bowel  Flora.Like pesticides, antibiotics kill good bugs  along with the bad ones.Wide-spectrum  antibiotics are notorious for this.The  human intestine has a somewhat delicate ecology in which certain bugs help  digest food, produce certain vitamins, and maintain a balance of organisms that  prevents harmful bacteria and yeasts from multiplying. Wide-spectrum antibiotics derange  the normal ecology of the intestine.This can cause parasitic infection, vitamin deficiencies, loss of  minerals through diarrhea, inflammation of the gut, malabsorption syndromes and  development of food allergies due to defects in intestinal function.

 4. Development Of Resistant  Species Of Micro-organisms.An article in Science Magazine, August 1992, stated,  “Doctors in hospitals and clinics around the world are losing the battle against  an onslaught of new drug-resistant bacterial infections including staph,  pneumonia, strep, tuberculosis, dysentery and other diseases that are costly and  difficult, if not impossible, to treat”. Bacteria have a certain ability to  mutate.Antibiotics kill bacteria that  are susceptible to their action, but this leaves the field open for mutant  strains to multiply even more.It is a  case of survival of the fittest.The use  of antibiotics actually encourages the development of the mutant, drug-resistant  super-bacteria.

 5. Immune  Suppression.This may sound odd, as the purpose of  antibiotics is presumably to help the immune response.However, evidence indicates that people  treated with antibiotics have more repeat infections than those who are not  treated.This is especially true of  children whose ear infections are treated with antibiotics.Vitamin A and C and the use of simple herbs  such as echinacea and astragalus, for example, are much safer and often equally  effective. In fact,  antibiotics do not aid the immune system.They replace one of its functions.Antibiotics act by inhibiting certain enzymatic processes of bacteria,  and by changing mineral balances.Normal  cells, however, are also affected.This  may be one reason why antibiotics weaken the immune response.Other toxic effects of antibiotics, such as  the effect upon the normal bowel flora, may also be a cause. AIDS research indicates that a risk  factor for AIDS is an impaired immune response.This can be due to a history of repeated antibiotic use.Perhaps it is no accident the same group with  the highest incidence of AIDS, male homosexuals as of 2009,is also a group that uses more antibiotics  than other groups in America.

 The link between antibiotic use and  increased cancer rates can also be explained this way.This topic is discussed in the paragraphs  above under #1.

 6. Overgrowth of Candida Albicans  And Other More Dangerous Intestinal Infections.Normally, candida albicans, a common yeast,  lives peacefully in our intestines and elsewhere, in harmony with other flora  that keep the yeast in check.Take an  antibiotic and all of this changes.By  suppressing the normal flora, candida takes over and problems begin.In its mild form the result is diarrhea or a  yeast infection. Far more serious is the growing  problem of chronic muco-cutaneous yeast infection.This is described in books such as The Yeast Connection and The Yeast Syndrome.It is a major iatrogenic illness today, and a  very debilitating and potentially fatal condition.One of the prime risk factors for chronic  candida infection is repeated antibiotic use. Even more dangerous is that  antibiotic use opens the intestines to infection by other species of pathogenic  or disease-causing bugs, parasites, yeasts and other types of organisms ranging  from amebas to far more toxic ones that can cause all types of systemic damage,  as well as damage to the intestinal lining and related areas.

 7. Chronic Fatigue  Syndrome.This is another ‘new’ health plague.It is associated with chronic viral illness  and a weakened immune system.While its  exact origins are not clear, one of the major risk factors for chronic fatigue  syndrome is – you guessed it – repeated antibiotic use.

 8. Nutrient Loss And Resulting  Deficiency States.Nutrient loss from antibiotics is due in part  to diarrhea, which causes a loss of essential minerals.Destruction of friendly bacteria in the  intestines can also impair the synthesis of certain vitamins in the  intestines.While not a major cause of  malnutrition, antibiotic usage may be another factor contributing to poor  nutrition and thus a weakened body chemistry.

 9. Treating Effects, Not  Causes.Antibiotics only address the end-stage result  of a weakened body chemistry – bacterial invasion.The bacteria may only be there to “mop up”  the biological debris that are present because the body is too weak to eliminate  the poisons. Fever is one way the body burns up toxic  substances.Providing it does not get  out of hand, the infectious process can serve a useful purpose.Cutting short the process with antibiotics  aborts the cleansing function of a fever and impairs long-term health. Not true, you might say.However, I believe it is true in some cases  because on tissue mineral tests, there are clear indicators of increased  susceptibility to infections.The  indicators are: 1) a low energy level, 2) a low sodium/potassium ratio, 3) toxic  levels of mercury, copper, or cadmium, and 4) low zinc. In hundreds of cases, when these  imbalances are corrected, the tendency for infections decreases  drastically.In other words, healthy  people do not get as many infections.Infections do not strike randomly.There is a logic to infections, and the underlying causes can be  addressed. This line of reasoning traces back  to the famous debate between Pasteur and Beauchamp.Dr. Pasteur insisted that germs are the cause  of disease.His colleague, Beauchamp,  insisted that the health of the host was more important than the germs. On his death bed, Pasteur was said  to have declared that Beauchamp was correct – “the host is everything, the germs  are nothing”.Orthodox medicine,  however, embraced Pasteur’s view, and ignored Beauchamp.It is time to focus more on the person, and  less on the germs.

 10. High Cost.While  the cost of a single antibiotic prescription may not be extremely high, newer  ones are somewhat costly.The costs are  high when the side effects are considered, along with the sheer numbers of  prescriptions that are written around the world each day , month and  year. Millions of doctor  visits and prescriptions for antibiotics add up to a major expense.While penicillin is not expensive, other  newer antibiotics are quite costly. These newer antibiotics are used  more frequently today due to the presence of penicillin-resistant strains of  bacteria.We must also include in the  cost of antibiotics the cost of allergic reactions, candida albicans infections,  repeat infections, development of resistant organisms and immune  suppression. The cost is justified if life is at  stake.However, if less toxic and less  costly alternatives can be used, shouldn’t these be tried first?Bringing health care costs under control is  not just a matter of eliminating waste and inefficiency.We need methods of healing that build up the  health of the people, not tear it down.

“Miracle” in a bottle.

Let me just start off by saying that I was very skeptical of the Thieves oil blend when I was introduced to Young Living. All that it claimed to do… I mean, seriously? Anti-everything bad! But it came in my kit and I wasn’t going to just let it sit there. I have 4 boys and that’s a lot of germs and dirt and gross (sorry boys… mommy loves you!). Thieves Oil Recipes for Household Use

1. Stuffed Animals – To disinfect and clean, place toy inside pillowcase and tie shut. Fill washer with detergent, use fabric softener if desired.  Add 5-10 drops of Thieves Essential Oil, (for small load) to washing machine. Wash on gentle cycle.

2. Hair spray buildup, gum, gummy adhesive -Dilute 8 drops in 4 ounces of water, spray,let set for a few minutes before wiping.

3. Cell phones-Spray thieves cleaning solution very lightly on a cloth and gently wipe phone.

4. Dishwasher– add 4-5 drops to thoroughly clean dishes, eliminate bacteria and odors.

5. Laundry– add 5-6 drops per load to freshen and disinfect.

6. Pet Bedding-Spray down cat boxes, dog houses, and pet cages to clean and disinfect.

7. Pet Dishes– Add 1-2 drops to soapy water and wash dishes. Rinse well.

8. Plants-To repel aphids spray plants with a mixture of 2 drops thieves to every 4 ounces of water.

9. Floors-add a 10-15 drops to ½ bucket of cleaning water.

10. Surface Disinfectant-To clean and sanitize surfaces-add 8 drops to 8 oz of water in spray bottle.

11. Fragrance-Add a few drops to potpourri or cinnamon sticks to fragrance your home.

12. Add several drops of oil onto a cotton ball and place in home, office, car, or hotel air vents to mask odor and purify the air.

13. Drop 4–5 drops onto a cloth and place in clothes dryer to freshen laundry.

14. Bed Bugs-Spray mattresses to help dispel bed bugs.

15. Add 4-5 drops to sink water and wash children’s toys to clean and disinfect.

Thieves Oil for Common Ailments

1. Flu: Dilute 15 drops with 15 drops of carrier oil. Apply to lower back (where viruses and bacteria tend to hibernate), to the upper back of thighs, and back of neck to help with symptoms. *Note: Some people have sensitive skin and it is too “hot” if they don’t dilute it. So always test first for sensitivity and have vegetable oil nearby to wipe off if necessary.

2. Immune support: Dilute 1 drop of thieves to 4 drops carrier oil and apply to feet. Apply twice daily, morning and night, for extra support during cold and flu season. (especially before leaving for school, work, or going out in public)

3. Bronchitis: Apply to lower back, sternum, chest and throat, sinus and bronchial vita-flex points.

4. Insect bites (mosquito, bee & wasp stings): Apply to bite or sting to reduce inflammation, relieve pain and counteract toxins.

5. Sore throat: Add 2-3 drops to 2 tbsp. of water and gargle, or add 1 drop of thieves and 1 drop lemon essential oil in warm water, drink as tea.

You can lick 1 drop off top of your hand and swallow or you can drop 1-2 drops directly on your tongue, swish around in mouth to mix with saliva, and swallow slowly.

6. Cuts and scrapes: Dilute 1 drop thieves oil to 4 drops of vegetable or carrier oil to prevent and apply to wound to help prevent infection and speed healing and you can apply diluted thieves on gauze or band-aid and cover wound or scrape

7. Headache: Place a drop on your thumb and place on the roof of your mouth. May require repeated applications. Be careful not to lick your lips as this can burn. Use vegetable or carrier oil to wipe off if you do.

8. Head and lung congestion: Place a few drops in a steaming bowl of hot water, cover head with towel and inhale vapors.

9. Poison Ivy: 2 drops of thieves mixed with 2 drops of vegetable or carrier oil, if there is swelling add 2 drops of lavender.

10. Acne: Apply undiluted to pimple. This works great and drys the pimple out quickly. If skin is too sensitive dilute with water.

11. Antibiotic blend:

      10 drops of Thieves Oil

      6 drops of oregano

      2 drops of frankincense

      Place in a “00” capsule and take daily.

12. Freshen Breath: Drop directly on the tongue, or add to a spoonful of honey or Agave, and swallow for unpleasant breath.

Thieves Oil Recipe for Health and Wellness

1. Put a drop of thieves on your toothbrush before brushing to kill cavity producing germs and to sanitize your toothbrush.

2. Mouthwash: Add 1 drop per ounce of water, shake well before use.

3. Toothpaste: Add 2 drops to 4 tbsp. of baking soda, place in small container (not plastic) and shake well. Dip toothbrush in mixture and brush.

4. For protection against colds, flu, and other infectious disease apply to the bottom of feet.

5. Add 1 drop to a bottle of water and drink during the day to boost immune system, break up internal mucous, and help clean digestive tract.

6. Add 1 drop thieves to a cup of warm water and drink as a tea, wait 15 minutes before eating, excellent for and cleaning digestive system.

7. Add 1 drop to orange juice, soy milk, apple juice, etc. to boost immune system, break up phlegm and congestion.

8. Place 1–3 drops in a size “00” capsule with 4-6 drops of vegetable oil and swallow daily to boost immune system and support longevity. Adds extra support during cold and flu season.

9. Thieves Oil Recipe for Flu:

      6 drops of Thieves Essential Oil 

      4 drops Oregano Essential Oil

      4 drops of Mountain Savory Essential Oil

      2 drops of hyssop Essential Oil.
