Today I want to share with you some wonderful information about a very close friend of mine called… Shea Butter. Shea Butter is amazing! It has tons of uses but the one I love the most is, eye cream.
I have always been obsessed with eye cream. Since my very first attendance to a Mary Kay party where I learn the HUGE importance of eye care and how to prevent wrinkles. I started young, so I know my eye creams and let me tell ya, they are FULL of chemicals. There was a point in time when I didn’t care what was in it, as long as it did the job. But now-a-days that’s not the case and when I threw out my last eye cream, due to sulfates and parabens, I was in desperate need for a quick fix. I glanced over onto the counter in my bathroom and there is was… my giant jar of Shea Butter! It worked wonderfully. Not too greasy, just enough thickness for around the eye and actually helped keep my makeup in place! It was perfect! It has been my best eye cream yet!
It’s a Natural Anti-Inflammatory…Shea butter has natural anti-inflammatory properties that have been known to heal scrapes, cuts and burns; relieve sunburn and rashes; take the sting out of insect bites; and ease the pain from muscle fatigue and arthritis. Add a drop or two of Young Living Lavender Essential Oil (anti-inflammatory), Purification (for cuts, scrapes and bites) or Wintergreen (for muscles), and multiply the healing properties like crazy!
And it has Anti-Aging Properties… Shea butter has been used for centuries as a wrinkle reducer. Shea Butter contains essential fatty acids, along with vitamins A and E, which are imperative to maintaining your skin’s elasticity and suppleness. In a clinical study done by Frank Renard, Ph.D., shea butter was found to have significant anti-aging properties and was proven to help rebuild and rejuvenate collagen. Participants in this study were given shea butter to use as a balm to massage on their skin for four to eight months. The results showed clearer, brighter skin; less wrinkles; and even less sun damage. WOW! I’m sold!!! 🙂 My second favorite thing about Shea Butter is the ability to use it with pure, therapeutic grade essential oils! Click HERE for a Homemade Body Butter Recipe. I love how she shows each step… super easy. Of course, I would definitely use GOOD, PURE oils and I would definitely use Young Living Oils.
