our walk in the spirit should be a continuous one

Acts 17:28

Amplified Bible (AMP)

28 For in Him we live and move and have our being….

Galatians 5:16

Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).

I remember a few years ago a mighty revival broke out at Brownsville Assembly of God Church in Florida.  It made national news because there were so many miracles taking place and it went on for some time!  People were travelling from all over the United States to see this mighty move of God!

As the revival progressed the members of that church began to be blessed more and more!  In fact, the revival started with a young lady who experienced a miracle in her mind and emotions.  The people began to “practice” the presence of God more and more!  Even people who were not members, would go and visit and come back home bringing what God had done in them to their churches!

One lady that attended that revival began to walk in the spirit in a way she never had before.  She could not seem to pray enough.  She could not wait to worship!  She would use her daily commute to work to praise and pray.  One day as she was driving, the Lord spoke to her and told her to pull into a convenience store and go to the back and stand on her head.  She thought, “This is the craziest thought!!  This has to be me!  I am not about to go in that store and do something like that, they will think I am nuts!”  She continued to drive.  The Lord spoke a second time and a little more sternly this time.  He told her again to pull into the store parking lot, go in, and stand on her head!  She made the block, arguing with God the whole time.

Finally, she knew she had to obey or be miserable!  She turned her car off, got out, walked inside, went to the back and stood on her head by the cold drinks.  Suddenly, the clerk began to sob.  She stood up and walked to the front where he was.  “Is there anything wrong, sir?” she asked.  He looked at her with tears streaming down his face.  “Lady, I just prayed about ten minutes ago, God if you are real I will only believe it if someone walks in and stands on their head!  I have a gun and I had planned to kill myself with it today and that was going to be my last prayer!”  This lady led that man to the Lord right there!

What if her pride had gotten in the way and she had not obeyed the Lord?  What if her own reasoning and fear of looking foolish had reigned over her instead of obedience to what God told her to do?  The man would never have believed in Jesus and would have taken his life and gone to hell that day!  Thank God, she continually walked in the spirit!

This can be a perpetual state for us and it should be.  We don’t have to experience this just on Sunday and Wednesday!  We can continually walk in His presence!  He NEVER leaves us, so why do we think we need to leave Him?  Stay mindful of the Lord!  When we do we literally pray without ceasing.  We will find ourselves in the right place at the right time doing the right things with the right people!  We will stay controlled by the Holy Spirit, instead of fickle emotions!

This is just such a better way to live!  Remember, IN HIM WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING!  What a beautiful and blessed promise!  Apart from Him we can do nothing that is of any great consequence!  Go with God, precious reader, and He will lead you and go with you, equipping you for every task!

Blessings to you in abundance!!  Juliana
