just one drop

This is the drop of blood that Jesus shed for me.

I keep this small red stone in my wallet, right there in the section with the coins.

Every time I reach in to grab correct change, I feel this little red stone, this one drop of blood.

And no matter how many times I fumble for a quarter and accidentally touch this drop of blood, I am stopped in my tracks.

I stop because I am instantly reminded of the precious blood that HE shed for me and the nails.

No matter where I am, be it in the check-out lane or at a coke machine, I close my eyes for a moment and say thank you Lord.

Thank you Lord for enduring unbelievable pain and suffering on the cross.

Thank you Lord for submitting to the Will of the Father.

Thank you Lord for throwing my chains of bondage to the ground with Your sacrifice.

Thank you Lord for POURING your blood on me; after all, He did not SPILL his blood.

A spill is an accident. He didn’t unintentionally bleed.

With great purpose and incomprehensible intent, he POURED out His blood to cover me.

He covers me with a rich layer of life-giving, creation-breathing, air supplying, sin forgiving blood.

My prayer is that I never forget His selfless act of complete surrender and that I always reverence Him in everything I do.

I hope that is your prayer as well, because, if You were the only person on the planet that needed saving from an eternity in Hell, He would pour out his blood…just for You.

Thank Him today for His blood!

  1. The older I get the more amazed I become at the love that drove Christ to endure the unspeakable pain of Calvary so that we could have forgiveness of sins. Knowing there would be many who would reject his precious gift. What Love!!!

  2. What a great way to remember Christ’s sacrifice in your everyday life 🙂 I love where you said, “My prayer is that I never forget His selfless act of complete surrender and that I always reverence Him in everything I do.” This is definitely my prayer too. What a wonderful Savior we have!

    1. Amen! I need reminders sometimes when life gets crazy…which is often. A simple way to keep the Lord on your mind.

God bless you! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
