John 16:23-24 KJV
23″ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”
Why is it so important to pray “in the name of Jesus”? Jesus is our Mediator, Intercessor, Advocate, and Lord as it says in Reverend Kenneth E. Hagin‘s book “Bible Prayer Study Course”. Notice our scripture says “whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you…” There is only one way to approach God and that is in the name of Jesus. There is no other way to enter into the Holy of Holies except by Jesus Christ. We praise Jesus, we certainly tell him we love Him and are grateful to Him for all He has done for us, but we pray in the name of Jesus to the Father!
God is our Father if you are born again. A good father provides for this children. He watches over them and protects them. An insecure child is not a joyous child. An insecure child is a child who, in some way, has been let down or hurt by the very one that should have loved and protected them. A child who knows they can depend on their father to meet their needs, protect, and be there for them in time of trouble is a secure and joyful child. God is a good Father and we should rest secure in Him knowing when we pray, He hears and answers us, as well as takes care of all of our needs! Notice it says in the second verse, “and ye SHALL receive, that your JOY MAY BE FULL.” Our joy is not full when we need something and don’t have it. Jesus made this promise so that we could live in confidence and joy. We have confidence in God because we have approached Him through Jesus representing all that HE is, not all that we are not! We know by doing this our prayers are heard and they are answered! That is how our joy is made full! If Jesus said it, you know you have it! He is always dependable, trustworthy and true!
Go in joy today, my dear reader! God is willing and able to meet your every petition in the mighty name of Jesus! It says in psalms for His names sake He will answer us! What joy and confidence we have in knowing that! Blessings to you today, dear reader! I will see you next time!
