Praying the word is so vital!  I see people often coming to God in total desperation and their prayer isn’t faith filled it is fear filled!  Why?  Because they either don’t know the word of God concerning their problem or they don’t see the importance of praying the word of God and standing on it in total trust!   Jesus  plainly tells us in John 15:7 “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”  It is very similar to a lawyer who is going to a judge to plead a case.  When a good attorney steps into the courtroom,  it has been after much delving into past judgements made by other judges in other courts.  These judgements are recorded in law books that state what the trial was about, who was involved, and what the judge’s final decision was.   When that lawyer goes to the judge with a prior judgement and proves it relates directly to his case, the judge has no choice but to honor the judgement of the case being presented.  That is what praying the word does.   When we pray the word of God, we are reminding God of His promises toward us.  If we need provision we have the His word (or decision) on it and that it will be given to us.  He said He would supply ALL of our needs according to His riches and glory!  If you have a need, dear reader, pray that scripture and thank God for the supply that is sure to come if you continue in faith!  That is God’s promise to you and He will not break  it.  God said He values His word above His name!   That is a high value, my dear reader!  In other words, we have His promise and God cannot and will not lie.  He has said it and He will perform it!  He tells us His word will not return to Him void, but will accomplish ALL it has been sent forth to do.  What does He mean it won’t return to Him void?  As we speak it, it goes forth to God and power is put into action for us!  God sees to it the word is accomplished in our lives!  If this is the case, then why are there so many unanswered prayers?  Here are a few reasons.

Many times people believe what their senses tell them.  Prayer is not something you believe from your senses!  It is something you believe from your spirit.  Many people come to God wanting Him to give them a “feeling”.  They want Him to take away their ability to worry and replace it with everlasting peace.  They want to feel peace and never worry again and they want God to cause it to happen!  God wants them to stand on the word that says Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me”  John 14:1  Who does Jesus say has the power to stop worry and fear?  WE DO! Who does He say has the power to trust Him so that peace may manifest?  WE DO!  We go on trust and faith, not how we feel!  People ask God to heal them.  The word clearly says by the stripes of Jesus we were healed!  Notice the word “were” in Isaiah 53.  It is past tense.  It is already done!  So many people get prayed for, receive their healing, but as soon as a symptom tries to come again they quickly say, “Well, I guess it wasn’t God’s will.”  You are listening to your senses and giving it first place over the word of God!  The enemy always attacks us through our senses!  He comes with depression, illness, hopelessness, anxiety, fear,  etc..  Notice these are all things we feel!  All of these emotions are the very thing the Bible says Jesus came to deliver us from.  When we feel those emotions or symptoms telling us God isn’t going to heal us or deliver us from trouble this time, we should quickly put away “sense knowledge” and grab  the truth of God’s word!  Reject everything that is a contradiction to  the word of God!  This is how we know “who’s talking”.  God will NEVER speak against His word!  His word is absolute truth and if you are hearing anything that isn’t in line with it, it isn’t God saying it!

I learned this from a minister’s wife one time.  She said every time she felt anxiety or upset and realized her peace was no longer ruling and reigning in her mind, she always would ask, “Who’s talking?”.  She would quickly realize her mind had wandered exactly where the devil wanted it to go!  She would then come to her senses and get her thoughts lined back up with the word of God.  When she did, her peace would immediately return as well as her joy!  We must ask ourselves this, too.  Satan will try to come as an angel of light, but you can always tell who it is because he never quotes the word in context or correctly.  He is trying to deceive us!  This is why it is so important to stay “read up and prayed up”!  God said His people perish for a lack of knowledge!  What knowledge?  HIS knowledge and what is in the word of God!

Determine to know what is rightfully yours, dear reader!  Hold fast to what God has promised you!  Stay away from any contradictions of the promises of God.  You will certainly see what God has said He will do for you!

Blessings to you, dear reader!  I will see you soon!

  1. Awesome post! How important it is to pray right. And it’s not because God is picky, it’s because we’re also battling the enemy when we pray; spiritual forces of wickedness in high places! Thanks Julianna! God bless you!

    1. Thank you and glory to God, Lyn! God has really been leading me into deeper areas in prayer, but not to make it more complicated than it is! The gospel is simple, as Paul wrote to the church of Galatia, we tend to complicate it at times! I think it is a matter of gaining knowledge from the word and putting it into motion! Blessings! Juliana

  2. Juliana, you delivered this word to perfection for ME today. Excellent and eloquently written. THANK YOU FOR THESE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT!

God bless you! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
